What’s not to like about the stretchy and snugly fabric that makes people comfortable? You can wear them time and time again and they won’t wear and tear on you like those jeans you love. It’s pretty safe to say when a heterosexual male sees a beautiful woman in yoga pants, they revert back to their Neanderthal ways with their mouth open and tongue hanging out. You guys can thank Joseph Shivers for that reaction. In 1949, Shivers was working on a replacement for rubber and after some tinkering and a few years in the lab, he created the fiber that we all know and love today, spandex.
Little did Shivers know at the time when he created spandex it would turn into this phenomenon that we see today. Go to any gym and you’ll find a woman working out in yoga pants, oh it’s true, it’s damn true. Because of Shivers, we now get to see our favorite female athletes rock the fabric in some eye-popping poses. The California native has followed the trend of great surfers coming out of the state when she won her first major national title at just the age of 16. Ashley would start her surfing career at the age of six and would pick up her first sponsor just one year later. Along with her national title win, she won the National Scholastic Surfing Association Championship and the Professional Surfing Tour of America Championship.
The beautiful athlete would appear in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in 2014 and become a national star. The beauty has gone on to model for other publications as well as appear on the popular cooking television program, Hell’s Kitchen, in 2014. Nothing beats a beautiful surfer babe in yoga pants and we doubt anyone would disagree with us.
